Druid Hills High School is pleased to announce that Myron Burton has been hired as our next Head Football Coach.

Since 2007, Coach Burton has been a Social Studies teacher and coach at Druid Hills High School. During his time on the Druid Hills football staff, Burton has served as Defensive Line and Linebackers coach, Defensive Coordinator, and, most recently, Junior Varsity Head Coach. Under Coach Burton’s leadership, our 2015 JV team posted an impressive 4-1 record. Burton has also served as a coach at Duluth High School.

Coach Burton has a Masters of Education from University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science from Tennessee State University. Burton played as a Defensive End at both Auburn University and Tennessee State University. Before becoming an educator, Burton served with distinction in the United State Navy.

In addition to his accomplishments on the field, Coach Burton is skilled at training and mentoring students and players for success in life off of the gridiron. Burton strives to develop our student-athletes into positive citizens by creating an atmosphere built on trust, discipline, respect, and hard work.

“As the New Head Football Coach for the Druid Hills Football team, I would like to thank Ms. Cunningham for this exciting opportunity to take the football program to new heights,” said Coach Burton. “As a team, we will continuously strive to represent the school with pride and dignity. We will work hard to improve our record and accomplish the long awaited goal of attaining a state championship. Thank you.”

Concluded Ms. Cunningham, Druid Hills High School Principal, “Under Coach Burton’s leadership, Druid Hills High can be assured that all things affiliated with the football program will exemplify Druid Hills High School’s hallmarks of honor and excellence.”
